UNIFIL has been deployed in southern Lebanon since 1978, yet Israel invaded again, Hezbollah built an enormous independent arsenal and repeated wars continued.

A complaint against Lebanon’s ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, has reached the military judiciary, prompting an unusually strong U.S. response. Washington called the case “shameful” and said Lebanese authorities should focus instead on Hezbollah operatives.
